Whatever the reason you are seeking counselling, it can be helpful to have someone to talk with that is not going to judge, analyse or tell you what to do. My aim as a therapist is to create a safe space to explore, to help you to a deeper understanding of yourself and assist you in finding your own way forward.
I have a passion for integrating mind, body and spirit into the work we do and applying current, up-to-date advances in the treatment of trauma in a creative and formulation-based way. I have a broad and varied experience having worked in different settings in both private and organisations.
I have specialised primarily in trauma, abuse and their many manifestations. My main aim is to help clients to observe, understand and change patterns laid down in childhood and through acute stress. Attunement is key and accompanying clients on such a journey and seeing them transform and accept is a huge privilege.

Hello, I’m Anduena, a counsellor who has experience working with adults, teenagers and children. With my clients, I always aim to provide a safe space for therapy where we can discuss and explore a range of issues, to have those difficult conversations, and be in a non-judgemental setting where you can share your thoughts and feelings without having to worry about what anyone thinks. Most importantly, the time where ‘you’ are the main focus and can use the therapy space as you see fit.
My professional background has mainly been within the counselling field but have also worked in a range of social psychology settings as a mentor, life coach, social inclusion officer and organisational work. My academic background is in BSc Counselling, a Postgraduate degree in Work and Organisational psychology and trained in Child Play Therapy. I’m sure you are curious to know a little about me and why I’d be the right person to speak to, so here’s a little background on me. I’m bi-lingual and can provide therapy in both English and Albanian. I’ve always worked in challenging settings as I believe that everyone deserves a helping hand and I truly feel content knowing that someone is aiming to better themselves and their situations, regardless of what it may be. I believe ‘when there is a will there is always a way’. I consider myself to be very open minded and love diversity and therefore I see all human beings as equals and treat everyone with the same care and respect. As well as being a counsellor from a professional background, I’ve also been at the receiving end of therapy and therefore I understand the steps which are required within someone to really push themselves to open up and trust someone in allowing them to see you at your highest or lowest points. My experience is why everything I do with my clients is at their pace and will continuously aim to build mutual trust.
Although I’m trained in integrative counselling and therefore can provide a range of treatment approaches, I mainly work within the person-centred approach which has the focus of how an individual/client perceives themselves consciously. I can also provide treatment in the following approaches; Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Holistic therapy, Psychoanalytic therapy, Mindfulness practices, Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT), Play therapy.
My message to you is that no problem is too big or too small for me to be able to work with you. You are at the centre of what we do in therapy. Everyone goes through different life challenges at different points and therefore I’d like you to know that regardless of how others may view your issues or even how you view your own troubles, your problem is important enough for you and therefore this should always be recognised, prioritised and vocalised. You are important and as are your struggles, regardless of what they may be.
I will be here to guide you in unlocking your inner healing abilities, work with you on an individualised process to create change and growth in your life regardless of who you are or how you may view yourself. We will share a safe environment and start a journey to healing and progression together.
I am Durim.

Hello, my name is Argita. I am a bi-lingual counsellor here at U Matter and I am able to offer therapy in both English and Albanian. I provide my clients with a safe environment to allow them explore their feelings and emotions in a healthy manner.
I have a wide range of professional and academic experience, where I studied Psychology and have worked in a legal setting working with clients who have immigration and asylum cases pending. Having such a varied experience has taught me that no two situations are the same and as a result I am able to adapt my methods according to the individual and their present needs. I am extremely open-minded and have zero judgement towards anybody who wants to begin therapy, in fact, I strongly support and applaud people who are able to take such a huge step towards healing and learning tools to better themselves.
Life is unpredictable and going through periods of uncertainty is extremely normal, and sometimes it is necessary to have a helping hand to guide and navigate you through any situation.
My goal is for my clients to feel that they are in a safe and positive environment and to facilitate their healing and growth.
